The exhaust system is connected to the exhaust manifold with bolts and nuts. It is suspended from the bottom of the car using rubber loops with a jumper.
1. Check rubber loops for fragility, tears and other damage, replace them if necessary. Pull the loops down to control.
2. Check the tightness of the bolt connections on the exhaust manifold flange.
3. Plug the exhaust pipe of the muffler with a rag. After a while, the engine should stall. If you hear hissing sounds and the engine continues to run, then this indicates a leak in the system at the place where the hissing is heard.
4. A dull sound when exhausting and pops in the forced idle mode indicate a rusted system.
5. With a rubber mallet, thoroughly tap the muffler on all sides, including the ends. Excessive caution should not be exercised. If a ringing sound is heard with each blow, this means that the metal has not yet been destroyed. If, when tapped, a dull sound is heard, then this is a sign that the outer layer is already weakened and will soon break.
