Faulty radiator fan (Audi A4 B6)

Cooling fans are only activated under high loads. Therefore, if a fan is defective, it is not necessary to stop driving. Let the engine cool down, then drive at a good pace to the nearest workshop. Idling and driving at a "creeping" speed should be avoided, since in this case almost no air passes near the engine fins. Watch the temperature gauge and coolant overheating indicator.

Warning! If the hot engine has recently been stopped, do not keep your hands near the fan! The fan may suddenly start working even when the ignition is off.
