Low beam incandescent lamp (Audi A4 B6)

1. In order to remove the lamp, you need to remove the left headlight; in the case of the right headlight, you need to remove the cover on the right side of the engine compartment (if it exists), as described in the section on replacing the parking light bulb.

2. Loosen the screws (arrows) as in step 4 for replacing the parking light bulb. Disconnect the activated carbon canister solenoid valve (N80) 1 from the air duct. Remove the air duct 2.

3. For both the left and right headlights, remove the low beam cover from the headlight housing.



4. In the case of a halogen lamp, disconnect the connector 2 on the low beam lamp. Pull the spring wire clip 1 out of the groove and remove the lamp 3 from the housing. In the case of a gas-discharge headlight, pull the spring clip (arrows) out of the groove and pull the plug of the connector 1 of the gas-discharge lamp out of the headlight housing. Turn the connector on the gas-discharge lamp counterclockwise and remove the lamp. Before working on the parts of the headlight with a gas-discharge lamp, which has yellow high-voltage symbols, be sure to disconnect the negative cable from the battery!





5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When inserting a new lamp into the socket, do not touch the bulb with bare hands.

6. Secure the incandescent or gas discharge lamp with the spring clip.

7. For halogen headlight, connect the connector plug.

8. Secure the housing cover with the spring clip.
