If you are installing a radio that is different from the one installed by Audi, you may need an adapter to connect it. Also, keep the following in mind:
- Anti-jamming kits must have an operating permit, otherwise the vehicle operating permit may become invalid.
- Some radios receive a speed signal to automatically adjust the gain depending on the speed of travel. The corresponding cable must not be shorted, otherwise problems with engine control cannot be excluded.
- Once the power supply is connected, data exchange between the radio and the combined instrument panel usually starts automatically (otherwise enter the code). The code in the radio is compared with the code that was stored in the memory when the anti-theft code was initially activated. If the codes match, the radio can be used. If the receiver is installed in another car, it is blocked.
1. Before removing the radio, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Follow the instructions for removing the battery (see chapter "Electrical equipment").
2. Insert the release devices into the corresponding slots until they engage.
3. Pull the receiver out of the instrument panel by pulling on the eyelets of the devices. In this case, the pull-out brackets should not be pressed to the side or skewed.
Removing the radio: Since the radio simply slides out, this job goes quickly. It's good if a thief doesn't take advantage of this convenience
4. Remove the connectors. Not all receivers have connectors that are impossible to confuse with each other, so it is best to label them accordingly.
5. To install the receiver, remove both extractor arms from the receiver and connect the connectors.
6. Slide the receiver into the instrument panel until it engages.
7. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
8. If necessary, enter the secret code. To do this, look in the radio receiver's operating manual.
