Note: It is also possible to remove the pistons without removing the engine from the vehicle, although this is more convenient when the engine is removed and placed on a workbench. Although the operations marked with an asterisk can be performed on the engine that is not removed from the vehicle with the pan removed, it is better to carry out them all the same, in the interests of cleanliness and ease of access, after removing the engine. Based on these considerations, these procedures are described in chapter 2B.
