Checking the oil level and topping it up in the main gear of the automatic transmission (60,000 km) (Audi A4 B5)

1. Oil filler plug (it's also a control one) is installed on the left side of the automatic transmission. behind the left inner joint (Fig. 27.1). Apply the handbrake, raise the front of the car and install safety supports (see Jacking up a car and installing safety supports). Remove the lower engine cover. The vehicle must be level to ensure accurate testing.



2. Unscrew the plug. The oil level should be level with the lower edge of the oil filler hole. If necessary, add oil of the prescribed type. The need for frequent oil topping up indicates its leakage, which must be identified and the defect corrected.

3. Screw the plug back in and tighten it to the specified torque. Then lower the vehicle.
