1. Unhook the spring clips and carefully remove the top outer cover from the front of the motor (see paragraph 4 of chapter 2A).
2. Check that there are no delaminations or cracks in the belt along its entire length. This will require cranking the engine, which is carried out using a head with a knob, grabbing the crankshaft pulley bolt. Make sure there are no chafing on the back surface. Check for traces of oil from leaky seals.
3. After completing the check, install the top front belt cover.
