Tip: Each clutch connection causes the disc linings to slide against the opposite friction surfaces and heat up. Especially high wear is caused by starting from a place at high speeds, which is called cavalry, starting in 2nd gear, driving at intersections in 2nd or 3rd gear with the clutch pedal partially depressed, or driving uphill.
Type of clutch installed on (dismantled) four-cylinder engine
- 1 - driven clutch disc;
- 2 - flywheel ring gear (the starter engages with the ring gear);
- 3 - clutch pressure plate.
