Here the radio is dismantled using two release brackets (1 and 2). The release brackets press on the mounting springs of the radio receiver and enter the grooves, due to which the radio receiver is removed from the mounting hole.
To access the mounting screw (2) loudspeaker for reproduction of high frequencies (1), you need to dismantle the door trim.
Removing the radio
The Audi A4 uses a new generation of wide-body radios. In our descriptions, we are talking about factory installation, this also applies to speaker installation locations.
1. Make sure you have the code number for installation against unauthorized disassembly.
2. The radio must be turned off.
3. Insert release brackets (sometimes included in a radio mounting kit) into both slots at the bottom of the front trim panel and remove from the slots.
4. Remove the radio from the center console.
5. In extreme cases, unlocking is possible with the help of two template plates with a thickness of about 1 mm. In this case, you need to carefully grasp the radio in the holes for the cassettes and remove it from the center console.
6. Disconnect the power and antenna connectors.
7. When mounting, make sure that the mounting pin on the rear of the radio goes into the hole provided for it in the dashboard. To do this, you need to keep the radio absolutely horizontal.
8. Now press the radio slightly into the mounting hole so that the mounting springs fit into the grooves.
9. Enter the code against unauthorized dismantling according to the instructions for use.
