Nothing should be added to diesel fuel, but it is permissible in winter. As the air temperature drops, the fluidity of diesel fuel decreases. Diesel fuel becomes as viscous as honey. For this reason, mineral oil manufacturers use winter additives to improve fluidity and ensure starting at temperatures down to -15°C. However, these additives are not always sufficient for flawless operation in winter, so gasoline should be added to summer diesel fuel in winter.

Mixing should be done, if possible, before the paraffin is released, otherwise the filter and pipelines will have to be cleaned of paraffin first.

Since adding gasoline reduces power, a strictly defined amount of gasoline must be added.

Note: Use only normal gasoline for adding (leaded or unleaded), do not use super gasoline.

Because gasoline is highly flammable, mixing must be done in the gas tank. First pour gasoline, then fuel.

Note: Adding gasoline will reduce power.

Note: Adding gasoline will reduce power.

If the engine does not start because the fuel has thickened, it is very difficult to start. To start:

Remove fuel filters and heat in a water bath until fuel becomes liquid.

Remove the fuel filter and replace it with a new one.

Roll the car into a heated garage.

Spray the fuel system with hot water.

BOSCH supplies a diesel heater for additional installation. The electric heater is installed in an additional pipeline to the fuel filter.

Caution: Never heat the injection system or fuel tank with a blowtorch or similar device. Risk of explosion!
