First 1000 km
In the first hours of operation of the car, more intense friction occurs in the engine than in the subsequent time, when all the parts rub against each other. How this break-in period will go depends largely on how you drive the car. One of the fundamental conditions - until the car has passed the first 1000 km - do not operate it at full throttle.
Moreover, the following speed limit, expressed in km/h, must not be allowed.
transmission - mileage from 0 to 1000:
- 1st gear - 30
- 2nd gear - 55
- 3rd gear - 80
- 4th gear - 110
- 5th gear - 125
The maximum allowable engine speed during this period can be no more than 4200 rpm.
Run period from 1000 to 1500 km
You can gradually move up to full speed or the maximum allowable engine speed.
Period after break-in
You can switch to the next forward gear when the tachometer needle enters the maximum speed sector. The short-term permissible maximum speed should be approx. 6300 rpm.
Critically unacceptable engine speed is limited at this time by a special device.
Table of speeds expressed in km/h for individual gears for vehicles with a turbo-diesel engine:
- 1st gear - 34
- 2nd gear - 60
- 3rd gear - 91
- 4th gear - 120
- 5th gear - max. speed
Important recommendations
When the engine is cold, in no case allow high speeds - neither in neutral gear, nor at idle. All the above calculations are based on a warm engine.
Never drive at high speeds in vain - timely shifting to the next gear saves fuel and reduces noise.
Also, do not practice driving at too low a speed. If the engine does not pull the load faster, shift to a lower gear.
Don't forget that tires also need to be run in to achieve their optimum traction effect. The first 100 km must be driven carefully and carefully.
