1. Hold the hood open and place cardboard or rags under the corners.
2. Push back the windshield washer jets and remove them from the hood (photo). Disconnect the nozzles of the jets and the wires of the heater heater.
3. Disconnect the engine compartment light wiring harness.
4. Pull the wiring and fittings out of the hood channel, and place them to one side (photo).
5. If a gas-filled strut is installed, remove it by pulling out the spring clip and pin. Support the hood.
6. Remove the plastic brackets from the hinges (photo).
7. Mark the layout of the hinges on the hood with a pencil or chalk.
8. With the help of an assistant, unscrew the bolts and remove the hood from the car (photo).
9. Reassemble in reverse order, but adjust the hood so that it is flush with the front fenders.
