1. From inside the vehicle, remove the lower trim panel from under the steering column.
2. Loosen the hood release lever mounting screws, then disconnect the cable from the lever (photo).
3. Inside the engine compartment, disconnect the cable from the lock control levers on the front crossmember.
4. Remove the special guides from the crossbar by turning the plastic clips 90°.
5. Remove the cable from the brackets on the front fender and route it through the bulkhead into the engine compartment.
6. Assembly is performed in the reverse order. If a new cable is installed, install the guide bushings and fasteners on the new cable.
