Hood lock drive cable



Hood lock drive cable

  • 1 - hood lock drive

Removal:
  • unscrew the mounting screws "4".
  • disconnect cable "3"
  • remove the hood lock drive

  • 2 - bushing
  • 3 - cable
  • 4 - self-tapping screw, 1.5 Nm
  • 5 - bolt, 20 Nm
  • 6 - hood lock
  • 7 - clamps
  • 8 - front clamp
  • 9 - rear clamp
  • 10 - seal


The cable must pass through the seal as shown in the illustration.

Removal



1. Remove the hood lock drive, see above.

2. Remove the brackets –7– from the lock holder.

3. Remove clamps –8– and –9– from the wing.

4. Remove seal –10–.

5. Disconnect the cable from the bonnet lock –6– and route it under the wing.

6. Unscrew the 2 fastening screws at the cable drive in the passenger compartment, in the foot area, and disconnect the cable at the handle.

7. Pass the cable through the bushing –2– in the passenger compartment.

Installation



1. Pass the new cable from the inside through the bushing –2– into the engine compartment.

2. Connect the cable to the drive handle and secure with two screws in the driver's foot area.

3. Connect the cable to the hood latch.

4. Route the cable as shown in the illustration.

5. Connect the cable to the lock drive.



6. Secure the hood lock drive –1– with the self-tapping screw –4–.

7. Secure the cable with clamps –8– and –9–, under the wing.

8. Install the clamps –7– onto the lock holder.
