Withdrawal
1. Open the hood.
2. Mark the position of the hood. To do this, circle the hinge bolts with a felt-tip pen (from the side of the hood).
3. Have an assistant support the hood.
Warning: When removing the gas-filled stop, the retaining spring -4- must not be completely removed. Otherwise, the stop may be damaged and will need to be replaced.
4. Disconnect the gas-filled stop -3- from the hood. To do this, slightly lift the retaining spring -4- with a screwdriver. Remove the stop from the ball joint. If the stop needs to be removed completely, lift the lower spring in the same way as the upper one and remove the ball joint.
5. Unscrew the fastening bolts -6- on the hood and remove the hood with the help of an assistant.
Installation
1. If necessary, restore the paintwork of the hood.
2. Reinstall the hood. Position the hood using the markings made during removal and secure with bolts -6-. If a new hood is installed, it must be adjusted.
3. Place the stop -3- on the ball joint and secure with the spring -4-.
4. If shock absorbers -2- were removed, they must be adjusted again. Rotate the outer shock absorbers for height adjustment. Screw in the internal shock absorbers completely and then unscrew ½ turn. The hood must be flush with adjacent body parts.
Hood adjustment
1. Slightly loosen the fastening bolts -6- on the side of the hood so that it can be moved in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
2. Slightly loosen the nuts securing the hook (nuts -1-, hook -2-).
3. Slightly loosen the hood latch bolts (screws -1-, hood latch -2-, holder -3-).
4. Close the hood and move it so that there is an even gap between adjacent body parts, refer to Specifications.
5. Adjust the height of the hood by turning the outer shock absorbers -2-.
6. Carefully open the exposed hood so as not to change the position of the hood hinges.
