The location of the cable and its fastening elements are shown in Fig. 16–11.
Removal
In the car interior, on the driver's side, unscrew the screws and remove the decorative lower trim from the instrument panel. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the hood release handle 2 (see Fig. 16-11) together with the bracket. Disconnect the cable from the hood release handle.
Loosen the screw securing clamp 6 of the bonnet lock cable.
Disconnect the hood lock cable from connector 4.
Release the cable sheath fastenings in the engine compartment, remove the cable from the engine compartment bulkhead and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Install the cable in the engine compartment without pre-tensioning.
