2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring ground and the central lock wire.
4. Mark the position of the hinge on the trunk lid with a pencil or chalk.
5. Have an assistant support the trunk lid, then knock out the pins to remove the stops from each hinge. If this is not done, it will be difficult to install the stops.
6. Remove the spring clips from the top ends of the struts and remove the struts from the ball joints.
7. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the trunk lid from the vehicle. If necessary, remove the fog lights by removing the license plate light bulbs as described in Section 12. The hinges can also be unscrewed from the body (photo).
8. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, but make sure that the trunk lid is centered (photo).
