Withdrawal
Cars with a gasoline engine
1. Set the front cross member to the service position.
2. Disconnect the coolant supply hose from the fitting on the water pump housing.
3. Disconnect the lower coolant hose from the radiator by removing the clamp (see arrow in illustration) and drain the coolant.

4. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
5. Unscrew the bolts (see arrows in illustration) fasteners and remove the thermostat housing.

6. Disconnect the coolant hose by removing the clamp 1 (see illustration).

7. Unscrew the mounting bolts (see arrows in illustration 3.6) and carefully remove the water pump housing.
8. Carefully remove the water pump shaft (see arrow in illustration) from the guide on the oil pump housing.

9. Unscrew the bolts (see arrows in illustration) fasteners and remove the water pump 2 from the housing 1.

Diesel vehicles
10. Drain the coolant (see relevant chapter).
11. Remove the front bumper (see relevant chapter).
12. Set the upper cross member of the front end to the service position (see paragraphs 3.1-3.6 in Section 2C).
13. Remove the ribbed accessory drive belt (see relevant chapter).
14. Remove the accessory drive toothed belt (see relevant chapter).
15. Remove the bolts (see arrows in illustration) and remove the rear timing cover.

Installation
Installation of the water pump is made in sequence, return to removal.
