Removal
Cars with gasoline engines
1. Set the upper front cross member to the service position.
2. Disconnect the coolant supply hose from the pipe on the water pump housing.
3. Disconnect the lower coolant hose from the radiator by removing the clamp (see arrow in illustration) and drain the coolant.

4. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
5. Unscrew the bolts (see arrows in the illustration) fasteners and remove the thermostat housing.

6. Disconnect the coolant hose by removing clamp 1 (see illustration).

7. Unscrew the mounting bolts (see arrows in illustration 3.6) and carefully remove the water pump housing.
8. Carefully remove the water pump shaft (see arrow in illustration) from the guide on the oil pump body.

9. Unscrew the bolts (see arrows in the illustration) fasteners and remove water pump 2 from housing 1.

Diesel Engine Cars
10. Drain the coolant (see the relevant chapter).
11. Remove the front bumper (see the relevant chapter).
12. Set the upper front cross member to the service position (see paragraphs 3.1-3.6 in Section 2C).
13. Remove the accessory drive V-belt (see the relevant chapter).
14. Remove the accessory drive toothed belt (see the relevant chapter).
15. Unscrew the bolts (see arrows in the illustration) and remove the rear timing cover.

Installation
