With a restrained driving style, the automation selects an economical shift program.
With a temperamental driving style with sharp acceleration and frequent speed changes, using the maximum speed or after a sharp press on the accelerator pedal, the automation operates in the range of sports programs. Late shifting to higher gears allows you to fully utilize the power reserve of the engine. Downshifting is carried out at higher engine speeds compared to the economy program.
The choice of the optimal traffic program for specific conditions is a continuous process. However, regardless of this, it is possible to switch to a more sporty program by pressing the accelerator pedal sharply. This shifts the gearbox to a lower gear corresponding to the actual speed of movement, providing the possibility of dynamic acceleration (for example, when overtaking) without the need to sharply press the accelerator pedal all the way. After shifting back to a higher gear and with the appropriate driving mode, the operation according to the original program is restored.
Vehicles with 4-cylinder engine
The optional hill program controls gear selection on uphill and downhill runs. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to shift when driving uphill. Pressing the brake pedal while driving downhill shifts to a lower gear. As a result, it is possible to brake with the engine without resorting to manual switching. Downshifting is possible, however, only up to 2nd gear.
