Warning: On ABS models, disconnect the battery before starting work to prevent air from entering the ABS module.

Examination

Models not equipped with automatic rear suspension height adjustment

Models not equipped with automatic rear suspension height adjustment

The valve is installed on the rear axle and determines the degree of load on the rear wheels based on the height of the rear suspension (the arrow indicates the valve lever). If the valve is faulty, it must be replaced. If necessary, adjust the valve as described in the installation.

Models with automatic rear suspension height adjustment

The valve is integrated into the rear suspension height adjustment system and determines the load on the rear wheels based on the pressure in the adjustment system. The valve cannot be repaired or adjusted. If the valve is faulty, it must be replaced.

Removal

1. To reduce brake fluid loss, remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and seal the neck tightly with plastic wrap.

2. Disconnect the spring from the valve lever if necessary.

3. Mark the brake lines and disconnect them from the valve.

4. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the valve.

Installation

Rear brake circuit pressure regulating valve

  • 1. Valve lever
  • 2. Spring mounting bolt
  • 3. Spring

1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

2. On models not equipped with automatic rear height adjustment, after bleeding the brake system, adjust the pressure regulating valve as follows. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands. Loosen the spring mounting bolt nut and insert a 7 mm drill bit between the spring and the mount. Check that the valve lever is fully extended, then install the spring mounting bolt so that the spring does not sag but does not put tension on the valve lever. Tighten the spring mounting bolt nut to the specified torque and remove the drill bit.
