Dynamic steering
1. Vane pump with electrically controlled regulating valve: the regulating valve is installed only on 6-cylinder engines; the vane pump and control valve are one unit and are replaced together; mounting position on vehicles with 4- and 6-cylinder engines: on the front left of the engine (belt drive).
2. Adjuster: Do not unscrew or separate from the steering column; the regulator and steering column are one unit and are replaced together; when replacing the regulator, the system should be recalibrated.
3. Active steering control unit "J792"; if the active steering system control unit "J792" has been replaced, a basic system setup must be performed.
Removal and installation the control unit of the system. active steering "J792"
System control unit. the dynamic steering wheel "J792" is located in the footwell, under the driver's seat. Before removing the control unit, read the coding using "Guided Fault Finding" in the "Control Unit Replacement" function. Loosen the driver's seat bolts and move it to the rear with the wires still connected. Remove the threshold trim. Remove the footrest. Bend back the floor covering and support it with a suitable wooden block "6". Unscrew the nuts "7". Unscrew the nuts "1" and remove the ground wire "2" from the threaded pin. Carefully remove the clamp connection of the wiring harness "3" from the bracket "4". Disconnect the plug connectors of the wiring harness "3" from the control unit "8". Unscrew the bolts "5" from the control unit "8" and remove the bracket "4".
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Tighten bolts "5" of bracket "4" on control unit "8" to a torque of 8 Nm. Connect the plug connectors of wiring harness "3" to control unit "8". Carefully insert the clamp connection of wiring harness "3" into bracket "4". Install the control unit with the holder. Attach ground cable "2" to the threaded stud and tighten nuts "1" to 6 Nm. Tighten nuts "7" to 6 Nm. When replacing the dynamic steering system control unit "J792," the system must be recalibrated.
