Control unit



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery

2. Remove the center console (see Chapter 11).

3. Press the latch (4 in the illustration) and disconnect the connector (3) of the SRS control unit (1). Unscrew the bolts (2) and remove the control unit.

4. Installation is performed in the reverse order of component removal. Tighten the bolts to 7 Nm.

5. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.

6. Remove the steering column covers (see Chapter 11), disconnect the connector (1 in the illustration), carefully press the fasteners (arrows) and separate the coil spring from the steering column module.

7. The spring must be installed with the steering wheel in a straight-ahead position.

Forward collision sensors



8. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

9. Remove the air duct if necessary.

10. Press the lock on the yellow connector (3 in the illustration) and disconnect it. Unscrew the two bolts (2) and remove the impact sensor (1).

11. When installing, tighten the bolts to 9 Nm.

Side impact sensors for front side airbags



12. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

13. Remove the front door trim (see Chapter 11).

14. Disconnect the connector (4 in the illustration), unscrew the bolts (1 and 3) and remove the sensor (2).

15. When installing, tighten the bolts to 5 Nm.

16. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

17. Remove the side trim.

18. Press the lock on the yellow connector (3 in the illustration) and disconnect it. Unscrew the two bolts (2) and remove the shock sensor (1).

19. When installing, tighten the bolts to 9 Nm.
