1. If there is a cover (A), remove it.

2. Remove the air intake channel (A) upwards. To do this, remove the bar (1), if present, from the petrol vapour absorber holder.

3. Remove 2 screws (2) and take out the front air intake duct (B).
Engines 1.6, 1.9, 2.5 l and 2.0 l (ALT)
1. Remove 2 screws (1).

2. Remove the upper part of the air filter from the holder and move it towards the engine.
Engine FSI 2.0 l AWA
1. Remove the air intake hose (4) and disconnect the connector (3).

2. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the upper part of the air filter and remove it upward.
Turbo engine 1.8 l
1. Loosen the hose clamp (1) and disconnect the wire from the gasoline vapor adsorber valve.

2. Disconnect the wire (3) and remove both screws (2).
3. Remove the upper part of the air filter from the holder and tilt it towards the engine.
Engine 3.0 l
1. Remove the air intake hose (4) and disconnect the connector (3).

2. Remove both fuel hoses from the holder on the top of the air cleaner.
3. Disconnect the secondary air inlet hose (1).
4. Remove the screws (2).
5. Tilt the upper part of the air filter towards the engine, detach from the bottom and remove it upward.
Engine 4.2 l
1. Remove the air intake hose (4) and disconnect the connector (3).

2. Disconnect the wire (1) and remove the two screws (2).
3. Remove the two fuel hoses from the holder on the top of the air cleaner and lift the top section upward.
All engines
1. Remove the filter element.
Installation
1. Wipe the air filter housing with a cloth, blow it with air if necessary.
Caution: When blowing air through the filter, make sure that the air masses and air intake pipes are covered with clean rags.
2. Insert a new filter element into the air filter housing.
3. Further operations are performed in the reverse order of removal.
4. 3.0L Engine: Fit the secondary air supply hose with a new sealing ring and secure.
