Inspect all connectors, wire harnesses and clamps. Make sure the contacts and fasteners are secure, pay attention to the appearance of scuffs and other damage.
If you are testing the brake and reversing lights, put the car back against the garage wall and turn on the lights - the performance is easy to determine by the reflection of the light.
1. If one of the size indicators, a headlight or a brake light does not light up, it is most likely that the bulb has burned out and needs to be replaced. Talk to chapter 12 for details. If both brake lights are off, the brake light switch may need adjustment (chapter 9).
2. If the gauges or the headlight do not light up, the fuse is most likely blown or the corresponding circuit is faulty (see chapter 12). The main fuses are under the cover on the front panel on the driver's side, the rest are under the hood. On diesel models, the fuse for the glow plug heating system is in a box in the rear of the engine compartment.
3. To replace a blown fuse, remove it with the supplied plastic tool. Insert a new fuse of the same rating, available from the parts store.
