Inspect all connectors, wire harnesses and clamps. Make sure the contacts and fasteners are secure, pay attention to any signs of wear or other damage.
If you are checking the functionality of the brake lights and reversing lights, back the car up to the wall of the garage and turn on the lights - functionality can be easily determined by the reflection of the light.
1. If any of the side lights, headlights or brake lights are not working, it is most likely that the bulb has burned out and needs to be replaced. Contact chapter 12 for details. If both brake lights are not on, the brake light switch may need adjustment (chapter 9).

2. If the side lights or headlights do not light, most likely the fuse has blown or the corresponding circuit is faulty (see chapter 12). The main fuses are under the cover on the driver's side of the dashboard, the rest are under the hood. On diesel models, the glow plug heating system fuse is in the box at the rear of the engine compartment.

3. To replace a blown fuse, remove it using the plastic tool provided. Insert a new fuse of the same rating, which can be purchased at a parts store.
