Removal the brake light sensor (Audi Q5-8R)

After removing the brake light sensor, it can be reused. The brake light sensor adapts itself. No calibration is required after installing the switch. Remove the storage compartment on the driver's side "1...3".



Disconnect the electrical connection of the air duct for the footwell "C". Remove the air duct for the footwell "A-B". Disconnect the plug connector of the brake light sensor.



If possible, leave the brake pedal stop in place; abrupt release of the brake pedal may cause breakage of the brake light sensor bracket. If possible, leave the brake pedal stop "17" in place; abrupt release of the brake pedal may cause breakage of the brake light sensor bracket "10". Press the pusher "10" of the brake light sensor with your finger until it stops. With the pusher recessed, turn the colored lock of the brake light sensor to the left until it stops to unlock the switch. When unlocking the brake light sensor, the pusher must be recessed. After unlocking the brake light sensor, release the pusher. Install the puller "T40168 A" between the brake light sensor and the brake pedal.



The cone of the tool should be facing the driver's seat. The recess on the tool should match the protrusion on the brake light sensor. Press the brake light sensor with the puller "T40168 A A". This will unlock the locking protrusions of the brake light sensor. Remove the brake light sensor from the mount.

Installation

When installing the brake light sensor, the pushrod is automatically adjusted. The brake pedal must remain in its original position during the switch installation (do not press the pedal). The brake pedal must be connected to the brake booster. Insert the brake light sensor into the mount on the brake pedal, press the switch. The three locking tabs of the brake light sensor must click into place. The switch must not be turned in the mount on the brake pedal. When installing the brake light sensor, the plunger is automatically adjusted. Turn the colored lock of the brake light sensor all the way to the right to lock the switch. Connect the electrical connectors of the brake light sensor. Install the air duct for the footwell "A-B". Tighten the bolt of the air duct for the footwell "A".



Connect the electrical connection of the air duct for the footwell "C". Install the storage compartment on the driver's side "1...3".

After installing the brake light sensor and before continuing driving, you should check the operation of the sensor.
