Tail light bulbs (Audi A6 C5)

Open the trunk lid/tailgate.

Fold back the boot trim where the tail light is located. On the left side of the car, remove the on-board tool.

Remove the flexible tail light cover.

Disconnect electrical connector 3 (fig. 14.36) from the rear light. Do not unscrew the rear light mounting nuts (arrows, Fig. 14.36).

Press both latches 2 (fig. 14.36) lamp holders towards each other and remove the lamp holder from the lantern.

Press and in this position turn the faulty lamp 90° counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.

Insert the new bulb into the socket, press and in this position turn it 90° clockwise until it locks into place in the socket.

Insert the bulb holder into the tail light until it locks into place.

Connect electrical connector 3 (fig. 14.36) to the rear light.

Install the flexible rear light housing, making sure that the protruding parts of the screws enter the recesses in the housing.

Attach the vehicle tool kit to the left side of the vehicle. Replace the trunk trim

Close the trunk lid/tailgate.
