The charge air cooler is connected between the turbocharger and the engine intake manifold. It can cool the intake air after the compression process by about 50°C before it enters the engine. This improves the filling of the combustion chambers and therefore increases the power.
Removal the charge air radiator
1. Remove the front shock absorbers.
2. Remove both air hoses on the charge air radiator.
3. Loosen the nuts on the mounting clamp.
4. Unscrew the mounting bracket or hang it up.
5. Remove the charge air radiator, if necessary, unscrew the air duct.
