Selecting the right oil specification (Audi A4 B5)

Since there is a risk of oil sludge formation at relatively long oil change intervals of 15,000 km, Audi gives strict instructions in this regard:

A conventional mineral oil-based motor oil must comply with the VW 501 01 standard. Only then will it have the necessary cleaning properties to prevent the formation of oil sludge.

Easy-flowing oils reduce internal friction in the engine. They must comply with the VW 500 00 standard.

Only in the absence of oils of the above specifications can all-season or seasonal oil of category API SF or API SG be used.

Tip: Factors such as price or origin of oil do not say anything about its quality!
