When the engine is running, the charge indicator light should neither glow nor flash. Otherwise, there is a fault in the current supply, see the troubleshooting section in the section Generator. If the red light does not come on when the ignition is turned on, then the incandescent bulb has probably burned out, or there is no conductivity in the wire to the generator, or its connection is loose.
