The battery is discharged
- Perform a tow jump start or jump start using a booster battery
The battery cable is damaged, the terminals on the battery terminals are loose or oxidized
- Inspect the battery wires and the terminals that secure them to the terminals
The control light has burned out
- Replace the indicator light
Broken wires between ignition switch, indicator light and generator
- Check the circuit with a tester and a test light
Broken ground (-) wire between generator and cylinder block
- Check the wire
The contact carbon brushes are worn out
- Replace the voltage regulator

- Give the generator for repair
When washing the engine, the moisture that penetrated created an insulating oil film between the contact rings and brushes.
- Blow out the generator with high pressure air or wipe the contact rings and carbon brushes
Battery charge indicator light stays on while engine is running
The pin/ribbed belt is loose or damaged
- Tighten the belt or replace it
The contacts are loose or the wire is broken
- Check the wire connections and the wires themselves

- Give the generator for repair
Wet outer surface of the battery
There is too much distilled water in the battery
- Evaporate excess distilled water by additionally charging the battery. Do not remove the electrolyte
The battery caps are clogged
- Clean the vent holes of the plugs

A lot of gases come out of the battery
