The brake master cylinder is the main one in the braking system. It is located on the left side of the rear of the engine compartment and controls the wheel cylinders of the calipers.
Removal
1. Completely drain the brake fluid from the expansion tank.
2. Disconnect the master cylinder from the expansion tank.
3. Disconnect all brake hoses from the master cylinder.
4. Screw in the two bolts securing the master brake cylinder.
Installation
5. Install a new sealing ring between the brake booster and the brake master cylinder
6. Tighten the brake hose mounting nuts on the master cylinder to a torque of 25 Nm.
7. Wet the expansion tank connection gasket with brake fluid before installing the expansion tank.
8. Bleed the brake system.
