Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years, preferably in the spring.
In workshops, a device for filling and bleeding the brake system is used to replace the brake fluid. The quantity is 250 cm3 per master cylinder bleed valve and 500 cm3 per wheel cylinder bleed valve.
Observe precautions when handling brake fluid.
Observe the sequence of opening the bleed valves.
Use suction to suck the brake fluid out of the reservoir to a level of approximately 10 mm.
Attention: Do not empty the expansion tank completely so that no air enters the system.
Fill the reservoir with new brake fluid up to the MAX mark.
Put a clean hose on the first bleed valve, substitute a suitable vessel.
Open the valve and press the brake pedal 10 times, thereby releasing the old brake fluid.
Close the valve, fill the expansion tank with new brake fluid.
In the same way, release the old brake fluid from the remaining valves.
Caution: The discharged liquid must be clear and free of bubbles.
Do not drain old brake fluid down the drain.
