A faulty steering shock absorber will manifest itself when driving on an uneven road as vibration in the steering wheel.
Removal
Unscrew the steering shock absorber from the steering gear housing linkage. While doing this, hold the housing pin with a wrench.
Installation
Before installation, check the shock absorber and replace worn rubber bushings.
Check the functionality of the shock absorber. To do this, hold it horizontally, stretch and compress it several times. It should move evenly throughout the entire working stroke. The shock absorption should be noticeable until the end of the stroke.
Install the shock absorber in the correct position. The piston rod is secured to the leash. Tighten the new self-locking nut with a force of 25 Nm.
