The braking system has two circuits, with front disc brakes and rear drum or disc brakes. The double chain is diagonal, in case of breakage of one chain, the remaining chain remains operational. The parking brake on the rear wheels is controlled by a cable. The brake pedal and parking brake are self-adjusting. The vacuum or hydraulic booster unit is located between the brake pedal and the master cylinder. The models are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), consisting of a hydraulic modulator, an electronic control device, a relay and wheel speed sensors. The system prevents wheel locking during braking, especially in a critical situation.
Warning lights are provided for the parking brake, low brake fluid level and ABS system.
