Disconnect the wires from the starter terminals.
Loosen the bolts securing the starter to the power unit.
Loosen the starter bracket mounting bolt.
Remove the starter.
The starter is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Starter details: 4 - bracket; 5 - hairpin; 6 - cap; 7 - locking ring; 8, 23 - bushings; 9 - back cover; 10 - brush holder; 11 - ring; 12 - anchor; 13 - retaining ring; 14 - spring; 15 - brush; 16 - housing with stator poles; 17 - contact group of traction relay; 18 - traction relay; 19 - drive; 20 - drive lever; 21 - thrust ring; 24 - front cover; 25 - traction relay mounting bolt.
