3.2 TDI 1st generation and 3.2 TDI SCR engines up to 05.2010: V166 fuel cooling pump
1. Remove the front sound insulation panel under the engine compartment (see Section 19 of Chapter 1).
2. Disconnect the connector (1 in the illustration) pump V166, clamp the hoses (3 and 4) with clamps No. 3094 and disconnect them from the pump V166.
5.2. Connector (1), connections (3 and 4) and bolt (2) of pump V166.
Unscrew the bolt (2) and remove the V166 pump.
3. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the V166 pump bracket to the side member to 22 Nm. Finally, adjust the coolant level.
3.2 TDI (CASA/CASB) and 3.2 TDI SCR engines: EGR cooler pump V400
Note: The V400 pump is located on the front of the engine.
4. Remove the upper engine cover (see Section 19 of Chapter 1).
5. Disconnect the connector (2 in the illustration), unscrew the bolts (1), clamp the coolant hoses with clamps No. 3094 and disconnect them from the V400 pump.
5.5. Connections and fastening of the V400 pump with lifting eye (using CASA/CASB engines as an example).
Remove the V400 pump together with the engine lifting eye.
6. Remove the bolts (arrows in the illustration) and remove the V400 pump from the lifting eye.
5.6. Fastening the V400 pump to the lifting eye.
7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the pump fasteners to the bracket with a torque of 2.7 Nm.
4.2 TDI models
8. Installation details of the "V166" fuel cooling pump and the EGR radiator pump are shown in the illustrations.
5.8a. Installation details of the "V166" fuel cooling coolant pump:
1, 2, 4 - Coolant hose;
3 - T-shaped connection;
5 - Fuel cooling pump "V166";
6 - Rubber support for pump V166;
7 - Pump bracket V166;
8 - Bolts. 9 Nm.
5.8b. Coolant pump "V400" for EGR cooler (only on CCFC engine):
1 - EGR cooler pump "V400";
2 - Bolts, 1.5 Nm;
3 - Pump bracket 1;
4 - Bolt, 23 Nm;
5, 6 - Coolant hose.
9. To remove the "V166" pump, you need to remove the left air cleaner (see Chapter 4), and an air tube installed above the "V166" pump.
10. To remove the "V400" pump, you need to drain the coolant (see Section 2) and remove the air tube installed above the "V400" pump.
