1. Timing chain installation details are shown on illustrations 9.1b, 9.1c and 9.1e. The installation details of the balance shaft and the accessory drive chain are shown on illustrations 10.1b-c.

2. Removal and installation of the balance shaft, all timing chains and the accessory drive chain is carried out in the same way as on CASA/CASB engines (see Section 9). Please pay attention to the features of removing the front sealing flange of the SATA and CCMA engines (see Section 18).

Removal timing chains from camshafts only

Note: After performing work on only one cylinder head, the timing phases only need to be adjusted on that cylinder head.

Note: For clarity, illustrations are shown from the rear of the engine with the engine removed.

Caution: When loosening the fasteners of the timing drive components, seal the openings in the timing case with a cloth to prevent fasteners and small parts from falling into the engine. Otherwise, the engine may be irreversibly damaged.

3. The power unit cannot be removed.

4. Remove the cover of the corresponding upper timing chain (see Section 19).

5. Follow the steps in paragraphs 8-26 Section 9, without paying attention to the work prescribed for BUG/BUN engines.
