Stabilizer



1. Place the car on a lift and remove the rear wheels.

2. Insert between the bottom (And in illustration 10.7 of Chapter 7) and the rear upper arm (B) a wooden block. to be able to press down the hub assembly holder.

3. On both sides, loosen the bolt nut (see illustration 10.8 Chapter 7) and using a wooden block, push down the hub assembly holder so that the bolt can be removed.

4. Loosen the nut on both sides (1 in the illustration) stabilizer bar mounts (2).

5. Mark the position of both stabilizer bushings (arrow in the illustration).

Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the clamps (2).

6. Separate the bushings with a screwdriver and remove them (see illustration).

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. When installing halves of bushings on the stabilizer, their larger diameter (1 in the illustration) should be facing outward, the groove (4) should fit onto the 8-sided flats of the stabilizer, and the tabs (2) should be fixed in the grooves (3).

Place the bushings according to the marks made during removal. After installation, use the base position to adjust the headlight range.

8. Follow the steps described in paragraphs 1-3.

9. Loosen the nut on both sides (1 in illustration 10.4) stabilizer bar mounts (2), press the stabilizer down with your hand, tilt the bar and remove it.



10. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The stabilizer struts on both sides must be made of the same material (early models featured aluminum pillars, which were later replaced by steel pillars).
