Mechanical pump



1. The connections and fasteners of the mechanical vacuum pump are shown in the illustration.

1 - Bolt T30, 9 Nm;
2 - Vacuum pump;
3 - Vacuum hose;
4 - Bolt, 5 Nm;
5, 7, 8 - Sealing ring, subject to replacement;
6 - Inlet camshaft.


2. Remove the top engine cover.

3. On 4.2L engines, the vacuum pump is located on the rear side of the right bank of cylinders. Separate the coolant pipe from the brackets (1 in illustration 36.15 Chapter 2) and from the lifting eyes, and then move it downward. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump, unscrew the bolts, and remove the pump.

4. On 3.0L engines, remove the bolt (4 in illustration 7.1) and disconnect the hose from the pump. Then unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the pump.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use new O-rings.

1 - Brake booster pressure sensor "G294";
2 - Vacuum hose to the amplifier;
3 - Relay "J569" amplifier;
4 - Non-return valve;
5 - Clamp, subject to replacement;
6 - Retainer;
7, 9 - Stop buffer;
8 - Vacuum pump "V192";
10 - Bracket;
11 - Nut;
12 - Bolt.
