Unscrew screws -1...5-.
Rotate the gearbox in the tilting mechanism -VAS 6095- in a vertical plane. Place the bushing -T40123 a/1- onto the drive shaft. Attach the puller for driving the ATF pump -T40123 A to the drive shaft. In this case, the edge -arrow- of the puller for driving the ATF pump must fit under the bushing -T40123 A/1-. Close the puller and tighten the knurled nut -1- (OK. 20 N'M). Check that the ATF pump puller is firmly seated on the drive shaft.
Connect the ATF pump puller -T40123 A- with the additional hook -10 -222 A/2- and hang it on the crane -VAS 6100-. Carefully remove the double clutch from the gearbox housing.
Place the double clutch with cover on a soft surface, being careful not to damage the thin spacer -arrow A-.
Remove retaining ring -arrow- using pliers.
Remove clutch cover -2- from clutch -1-.
If the clutch cover cannot be removed, lightly tap the drive shaft with a plastic mallet while a second mechanic lifts the clutch cover with his hands. When doing this, avoid damaging the thin spacer -arrow A-.
Installation
Install in reverse order. Replace the washer and retaining ring. Clean the sealing surface on the clutch housing cover. Rotate the rectangular ring -B- on the hub, make sure it moves freely and check the axial play. If the movement of the rectangular ring is difficult, a double clutch cannot be installed. Clean the gearbox housing in the area of the double clutch and the sealing surface. Make sure that when cleaning, particles of contaminants do not get into the gearbox. Screw the centering tool -T40199- into the threaded holes of the gearbox housing, as shown in fig.
Check the thread -arrow- in the gearbox for signs of wear.
Moisten the seal. ring -C- and hub -B- of the double clutch when replacing ATF oil. Insert the double clutch into the gearbox housing as shown in the figure, using short turns and longitudinal movements to engage the drive shaft into the engagement of the ATF pump and the gearbox shafts. The dual clutch is installed correctly when the clutch cover O-ring is firmly in contact with the edge of the gearbox housing. When installing, be careful not to pinch the new O-ring. Strictly follow the tightening sequence of bolts - 1 to 5 - of the double clutch and clutch cover. Tighten bolts -1 to 5- of the clutch cover to the specified torque and in the specified sequence. Replace seal. drive shaft ring. Install the flywheel. After installing the gearbox, fill in ATF oil. After replacing the dual clutch, the appropriate "Slave function" using diagnostics tester.
