Caution! To avoid dry running of the high-pressure fuel pump and to quickly start the engine after replacing parts, the following points must be observed. After removing or replacing parts/components of the fuel system between the tank and the high-pressure fuel pump, it is necessary to perform the basic setting "Checking the fuel booster pump" to purge the fuel system. After removing or replacing the auxiliary fuel pump, fuel line (between tank and high pressure fuel pump) or fuel filter, before the first engine start, it is necessary to perform the basic setting "Checking the fuel booster pump" 1 time. After removing or replacing the high-pressure fuel pump, before the first engine start, it is necessary to perform the basic setting "Checking the fuel booster pump" 3 times. Perform the first refueling after installing the fuel pump.

Installation



Install in reverse order. Replace all gaskets and O-rings. The fuel return line must not be kinked, damaged or clogged. Install the high-pressure pump toothed belt. Install the high-pressure lines. Install the upper part of the intake manifold. Before starting the engine for the first time, fill the high-pressure pump with fuel. The high-pressure pump must not be run dry. Risk of damage to the high-pressure pump due to dry running.
