Replacing front and rear seals
Remove the corresponding seal for the rear glass cover -1-.

- 3. Back cover
- 4. Inner seal
Remove any remaining adhesive using the adhesive remover -VAS 6349-. The surface for gluing on the rear section must be cleaned of dust and degreased. Clean the bonding surfaces around the perimeter with cleaner -D 009 401 04-. Using a rag for primer treatment, wipe the bonding surfaces of the rear glass cover. Observe drying time. Remove the protective film of the new seal and press the seal at both ends. Distribute the excess length of the seal evenly. Press the seal evenly using the insulating film roller -3356-. Installing the rear glass cover. Replace the seal on the sides. Remove the side seal -2- from the rear window cover profile-1-.
Remove possible adhesive residues using adhesive remover -VAS 6349-. The surface for gluing on the rear section must be cleaned of dust and degreased. Clean the bonding surfaces around the perimeter with cleaner -D 009 401 04-. Using a rag for primer treatment, wipe the bonding surfaces of the rear glass cover. Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape of the new seal.
Press the seal -2- with the clamp -1- onto the glass cover -3-. Press the seal at both ends.
Press seal -2- into window cover profile; if necessary, pull out excess seal evenly. Press the seal evenly using the insulating film roller -3356-. Installing the rear glass cover.
Replacing the outer seal
Be sure to replace the seal after replacing the sunroof.
Removing the seal: The sunroof frame has been removed. To remove, pull seal -1- all the way around from the cutout in the roof.
Installing the seal: Remove any remaining adhesive if necessary. The surfaces to be bonded must be free of dust and degreased. Clean the bonding surface with solvent -D 009 401 04-. Use a primer cloth to wipe the bonding surfaces of the mounting frame. Guide joint of seal -1- into center of rear roof cutout -arrow-. Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape -2-on the side of the joint.
Place the seal onto the flange and at the same time press it until it is rounded. Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape piece by piece and press the seal. Distribute the excess length of the seal evenly. Press the seal evenly using a roller in a double pass.
Replacing the Internal Seal
Removing the front glass cover. Removing the rear glass cover. Remove inner seal -2- from mounting frame -1-. Remove any remaining adhesive using the adhesive remover -VAS 6349-. The surfaces to be bonded must be free of dust and degreased. Clean the bonding surfaces around the perimeter with cleaner -D 009 401 04-. Use a primer cloth to wipe the bonding surfaces of the mounting frame. Place the inner seal -2- with its joint in the center of the cutout in the roof against the bonding surfaces of the mounting frame -1. Piece by piece, remove the protective film from the adhesive tape -3- of the new inner seal and press it. Distribute the excess length of the inner seal evenly. Press the inner seal evenly using the insulating film roller -3356- in a double pass.
