The V-belt is used to drive the water pump.

Removal

When reinstalling the belt, use a marker or paint to mark the direction of belt rotation with an arrow.

Reduce the tension of the power steering pump, alternator and radiator fan drive belt. Use a steel rod to secure the belt tension roller in the retracted position.

Using a 5mm diameter steel rod, secure the radiator fan pulley from turning and unscrew and remove the radiator fan from the back of the pulley (see fig. 2.87).

Remove the V-belt.

Installation

Install the V-belt.

Gradually and evenly tighten the V-belt pulley onto the water pump.

Rotate the water pump pulley by hand to properly seat the V-belt in the pulley grooves.

Tighten the water pump pulley mounting bolts to 25 Nm. There is no need to adjust the V-belt tension.

Install the radiator fan and place the V-belt on the radiator fan pulley.

Screw the radiator fan with a bolt, tightening it to a torque of 45 Nm, while fixing the bushing with a 5x60 mm screw (see fig. 2.87).

Install the power steering pump, alternator and radiator fan drive belt and adjust its tension.
