The Audi Allroad was first introduced in the spring of 2000. The Audi Allroad is a hybrid of a classic station wagon and a traditional SUV. It combines the dynamics of the Audi A6 Avant and the versatility of SUVs. Having in its arsenal all-wheel drive quattro, upgraded suspension (4-level air suspension), downshift (by order) and modified body and interior, the Audi Allroad combined the two vehicle classes.
Cars are equipped with two turbocharged V-shaped engines - gasoline (2.7 l, 230/250 hp with two turbochargers) and diesel (2.5 l, 150/155/180 hp).
In the spring of 2002, a 4.2-liter 8-cylinder petrol engine with 300 hp was added. with automatic 5-speed Tiptronic transmission. It is also possible to complete the car with a manual 6-speed gearbox. The transmission uses a Torsen type differential.
Thanks to the use of elastic pneumatic elements, the suspension of the car allows you to change the ground clearance in the range of 142-208 mm, while the automatic adjustment system depending on the speed was modernized in 2002 - a mode «manual» adjustments.
Powerful bumpers with integrated protective elements and developed wheel arches with plastic lining emphasize the off-road qualities of the Audi Allroad and protect the body when driving off-road and in light collisions. A special interior concept has been developed for the Audi Allroad. With high lateral support and excellent ergonomics, the seats securely fix the driver in both sporty cornering and off-road driving.
