To check for wear on the joints, drive the car slowly in a circle with the steering wheel turned all the way. If you hear a metallic clicking sound, the outer CV joint is likely worn and needs to be replaced.
If you feel vibration when accelerating, which increases with increasing vehicle speed, the inner CV joint is probably worn out and needs to be replaced.
Replace the worn joint or the entire axle shaft if necessary.
