External hinge
1. Remove the mounting clamp, bend back the boot and remove the joint grease.

2. Remove the outer joint from the axle shaft.
3. Remove the retaining ring, washer and bushing.
4. Clean the joint and inspect it thoroughly. Replace the joint or axle shaft if necessary.

5. Wrap the splines with tape and install a new boot.


6. Install the washer with the curved side inward and install the bushing in place.

7. Install a new snap ring.


8. Fill the joint thoroughly with grease and install it on the axle shaft.

9. Tap it onto the retaining ring.

10. Place the edge of the boot into the groove and lift the edge of the boot to release air.


11. Install the mounting clamps and tighten them.

12. Do not tear the boot.

1. Knock the mounting plate off the hinge.
2. Remove the retaining ring.
3. Remove the hinge.
4. Remove the boot retaining clamp and remove the boot.
5. Clean and inspect the joint. Replace it if necessary.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Inner hinge
(Diesel models and petrol models with automatic transmission)
1. Remove the outer hinge.
2. Remove the inner boot.

3. Clean and inspect the joint. If it is worn or damaged, replace the axle shaft.

4. Fill the joint thoroughly with grease.

5. Wrap the splines with tape and install the boot in place.

6. Place the edge of the boot behind the axle shaft protrusion.

7. Lift the edge of the boot to release air.


8. Install the mounting clamps and tighten them.
9. Install the outer hinge into place.
