Removal



1. Remove the valve cover.

2. Set the piston of cylinder N1 to TDC.

2. Set the piston of cylinder N1 to TDC.


3. Disconnect the fuel hoses from the pump (the arrow shows the bolt connecting the banjo to the valve).

4. Mark and disconnect the wires from the injection pump.

5. Unscrew the connection nuts and remove the fuel pipes.

6. Remove the injection pump drive belt tensioner.

7. Loosen the pump sprocket mounting nut and remove the sprocket using a puller.

8. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the pump.

Installation and adjustment



1. Place the pump on the mounting bracket and tighten the mounting bolts.

2. Install the pump sprocket and check that the fuel injection timing marks are aligned.

3. Remove the mounting plug from the back of the pump and install the dial gauge.

4. Set the gauge pointer to 2 mm, then slowly turn the engine crankshaft counterclockwise until the gauge pointer stops moving. Press the gauge until the pointer points to 1 mm, and move the pointer to zero.

5. Slowly rotate the engine crankshaft until the TDC mark on the flywheel/drive plate is aligned with the hole in the transmission housing.



6. Check that the sensor shows 0.7±0.02 mm.

7. If adjustment is necessary, turn the pump as necessary.

8. Tighten the pump mounting bolts.

9. Connect the fuel lines, hoses and wires.
