Checking the oil level in the manual transmission
When checking the oil level, the car must be in a horizontal position. If present, remove rear noise insulation "2".

Unscrew the threaded plug of the gearbox oil filler hole "arrow" to check the oil level in the gearbox. Required value: the oil level is normal if the gearbox is filled up to the lower edge of the oil filler hole.

If necessary, add transmission oil. Screw in the oil filler plug. Oil filler plug: 45 Nm.
Removal and installation the gear position sensor "F208"
The checkpoint is installed. Remove the rear noise insulation screen "2".
Diesel vehicles: Additionally, remove the front sound insulation "1". Remove the front engine mount by unscrewing bolts "1". Ignore items "2" and "3".

All
Separate the system. exhaust pipe from the "arrow" bushing. Tie the exhaust pipe on the side with wire to the rear of the system. exhaust pipe (bushing).

Place the lift stand with the "T10337" transmission support mounted under the transmission. Raise the transmission slightly using the lift.

Unscrew the tunnel cross member arrow bolts.

Lower the transmission using a lift by dimension "a". Dimension "a" = maximum 80 mm.

Disconnect the "arrow" electrical connector using the "T40138" puller and release the electrical wire. Unscrew the gear detection sensor "F208" from the shift shaft cover.

Installation
Installation in reverse order. Screw the gear detection sensor "F208" into the shift shaft cover. Connect connector "2" of the gear position sensor "F208". Ignore "Pos. 1" and "Pos. 3".

Screw on the crossbar of the "arrow" tunnel.
Diesel vehicles: Raise the front engine mount "1" up until it touches the crossmember in the direction of the arrow. The bumper "2" should be flush with the crossmember without any play or tension. Then tighten bolts "3" to the specified tightening torque.

All
Assemble the system. exhaust and align without tension. Install soundproofing. Gear Detection Sensor "F208": 20 Nm.
Removal and installation of the gearbox neutral position sensor "G701"
Only for vehicles with start-stop system. Gearbox installed. If present, remove the rear noise insulation screen by loosening fastening elements "2" and "3".

Select 4th gear by moving gearshift lever "2" forward in the direction of the arrow. Ignore position "1".

Disconnect the plug connection of the gearbox neutral position sensor -G70V "1".

Unscrew the "arrow" bolt and remove the "G701" neutral position sensor "A". The "B" locking cover is not removed.
Installation
Insert the neutral position sensor of the gearbox "G701" "A" with a new seal. ring into the locking cover "B" of the switching shaft. Tighten the new arrow bolts to the specified torque.

Connect the plug of the neutral position sensor of the gearbox "G701" "1". Install noise insulation. Gearbox neutral position sensor "G701": 10 Nm + 45°. Replace the bolt.
