With a decrease in the outside air temperature, the fluidity of diesel fuel decreases due to the precipitation of paraffin. Diesel fuel becomes like honey in its fluidity and can clog the filter. For this reason, additives can be added to diesel fuel in winter to increase the fluidity of the fuel and make it possible to start the engine at an outside temperature of up to -22°C.
To prevent clogging of the fuel filter at low outside temperatures, the fuel is directed to the heat exchanger.
