While driving, sometimes pay attention to whether the automatic transmission is functioning correctly. The state of the gearbox can be judged by how the shift processes proceed.
Switching to a higher gear. With the accelerator pedal partially depressed, gear changes are almost imperceptible. At full throttle or hard depressing the accelerator pedal, the shifting process is more noticeable, but upshifting should be smooth. A brief increase in engine speed when shifting gears indicates a malfunction, the cause of which must be determined.
Downshifting. Downshifting at low speed (with the accelerator pedal not pressed) should go almost unnoticed. A push with partial or full pressing of the carrion is normal. Without gas, downshifting using the selector lasts one to two seconds. If the accelerator pedal is pressed at the same time when downshifting with the selector lever, the downshift occurs immediately.
